Vogel – A popular ski resort among Austrians and Slovenes, located in the Triglav National Park, a high-mountain karst plateau, between Lake Bohinj and the mountain range. Sometimes it is mistakenly called “Bohinj ski resort”, but this is incorrect because Bohinj is the name of the lake at the foot of the mountains. If you want the feeling that you are in the real Alps, look no further than Vogel. The mountain range is located at an altitude of 1800 meters above sea level. We loved the place for its reasonable prices, beautiful views of nature, convenient ski slopes for both alpine skiers and cross-country skiers.
Since the resort is located in a protected area, snow cannons and other interventions in the natural snow cover are not used here. As we have already said, Vogel is located near the very beautiful Lake Bohinj, which is in no way inferior to Bled, and in some ways even surpasses it. Lake Bohinj is located high in the mountains, in a stone bowl. A real mountain lake! In addition, from the banks there is an amazing view of Triglav – the highest mountain peak in Slovenia, depicted on the coat of arms. This is where the longest trail in Slovenia is located – the Žagarjeva Hollow. In order to organize your ski holiday, choose one of the hotels in the Bohinj region for your stay – many of them provide a free transfer to the cable car and even include ski passes in the price. The length of all trails is 22 km, easy trails are 9.5 km and harder trails are 12.5 km. In winter, at your service: -children’s park -mini freestyle park -snow park -free ride slopes From spring to autumn, this is an excellent starting point for hiking and walking. Vogel is also famous for its bike park, which combines a variety of trails for amateurs and professionals; there is a rental point for modern mountain bikes here. This is also one of the best places for paragliding.
